More Modified Helios

I have previously posted a number of images taken with my modified (front element reversed) Helios lens. But not all images taken with the lens necessarily show the ‘swirly’ bokeh for which it is known. That is dependent on the f-stop used, distance to the subject, subject to background distance, and lighting conditions (as well as wind direction, outdoor temperature, and a host of other unknowns :). In this case, the swirling is not evident, but the image displays the soft focus and smooth bokeh that the lens is otherwise know for. I believe that in this case, a small aperture limited the degree of swirl.

I have since acquired a non-modified Helios that also gives interesting image renderings, not too dissimilar from this image.
