Columbine

This is another in the series of self-assignment images I made, shooting with a wide-open aperture to blur the background and try to achieve a dreamy look. It was taken at Phipps Conservatory, and I had to get down quite low to get at eye level with the flower. As an aside, I’ve noted that the older one gets, the more difficult it is to get back upright after being down at ground level.

The images are a result of an online flower photography course I took, the goal of which was to make flower photographs with a ‘dreamy’ appearance. The course got me motivated to go out and try to do just that.
