The Spouting Horn

On the Oregon Coast, right on Highway 101 near the town of Yachats, lies Cook’s Chasm. In the chasm is an underwater sea cave that has been carved by the ocean over thousands of years. The top of the cave has an opening and at high tide, as waves move into shore, water is intermittently forced through this opening under high pressure in what appears to be a geyser. It is quite a fun spectacle and I found myself returning several times to make photographs of the so called ‘Spouting Horn’.
