Shhhhh.....It's A Secret!

When I was last in Oregon, I had the opportunity to explore the southern coast with some friends. I was very lucky in that they both live in the area and knew ‘the places to go’. One of those places was ‘Secret Beach’ and, yes, that really is its name. And it is a secret…..well, sort of…..or maybe not really. But you do have to know where it is, because it is completely unmarked from the road. If you know, you know :) They knew.

Once you park in the dirt by the trail you have about a quarter mile hike along an easy to moderate trail. The more dark it is (like when we went for sunrise), the more moderate it seems! When you get to the end of the trail you are greeted by quite a beautiful surprise and I couldn’t help but take this short ten second video (for those receiving the blog by email, this video will not come with the mail but you can view it at https://youtu.be/ucMpAWXZQ2w):

It wasn’t that easy to get down to the actual beach, but we managed to. I took this photo from up on the hill, where the trail emerged from the forest.
