Beach Grass

Walking along the beach in Oregon, there is just so much to see. The obvious is the ocean, the rocky cliffs, and the sea stacks. But there is beauty in other things…..in the things that aren’t the first ones that draw your eyes. Take, for example, the beach grass.

Beach Grass

Ammophila breviligulata (American beachgrass or American marram grass) is actually native to the East Coast but considered invasive on the West Coast, having been introduced to help control beach sand. Nonetheless I found myself drawn to the lines and gentle curves that the plant makes.
